Bad Influence

I`m guessing that you frequent the same places on the internet that I do , if so , I guess you will have seen a thread on Jockey Journal , entitled `The Most Influential Bikes of the Last Ten Years `.
Speaking purely about Triumphs , I wouldn`t like to say which was THE most influential , but I think the Delinquent has to be up there as a contender
.
This bike was featured on Guy Boltons `Greasy Kulture ` website before there were forums or blogs about this stuff . I think you can see the Delinquents` influence in a lot of the customised Triumphs you see today .

I`m not saying it was the first or the best , these things are debatable . But influential , definitely .

Sweet Gene Vincent

This cool little tank is owned by Pete from Eat the Rich (see linkbar).
I wonder if it`s a CZ tank , like the silver one in the pic pinched from Show and Go (also in linkbar).
I`d run this just as it is , the Gene Vincent scrawl reminds me of what I did to my schooldesk with ink and a compass , circa 1982!

I`ve Started So I`ll Finish ....

As someone who habitually saves pictures I like to my hard drive , I often come across stuff that I have no clue to the origins of .
All I know about these , is that the riders name is Magnus , which makes me think Scandinavia (?).
Really digging the bike though , swinging arm frame , TT pipes and nice paintwork .
Anyone know Magnus ?

A to Z of BritBikes

1949 AJW Grey Fox is a personal favourite . Love those headlight brackets on th Oleomatic forks , also note , the carb for the 500cc JAP is nestled between the exhaust ports , must have made running adjustments interesting ! The flanges on the tank are a gully to keep rain water off the rider . The finish was `Azure Blue `must have been one handsome machine .

I suppose this ABJ Autocycle from 1950 is pretty standard post war Britbike fodder . I thought it was interesting just for it`s Hummer~esque tank.

Stacked Deck

I realise I`m about two weeks behind the rest of the civilised world , but I just got my hands on the newest Dice mag.
I have to say that , for me , Jeff Deckers Triumph is far and away the coolest thing in there .
Aside from the obvious (the rarity of the model and having all the right parts ), it`s the restraint that`s been shown in the restoration . So many times , I`ve been to look at bikes which have been `restored`, only to find the sellers definition of a restoration is to make the bike way shinier than it was when it left the factory and `upgrade` the bits they see fit . Nothing wrong with personalising a bike , but a restoration that ain`t !
Back to Deckers bike , how cool is that rubber Dunlop saddle and factory cylinder oil tank . Classy!

B F Tri

Whilst it won`t have been the flashest or most expensive bike at the Born Free show , this little Trump does it for me .
I think the small case unit bikes can look really good hardtailed , they`ve got a shorter wheelbase than a stock rigid pre unit frame , so they can take a small stretch without looking disproportionate . They also share a lot of cycle parts with the pre units , as they were produced side by side for 6 years .
Check out the Mag , mounted where the dizzy used to be .
